The Semrush Affiliate Program offers a generous commission structure, rewarding you at every stage. Whether your referrals start a free trial or make their first purchase, we track their activity and pay you a commission.

Depending on the product you promote and your partner tier, you can earn up to $450 per sale and $10 for each trial activation.

The program offers last-click attribution and 120 days of cookie life. If someone clicks your affiliate link and signs up within the specified time frame (120 days), you’ll' should receive credit for the referral’s first purchase, even if they don't buy immediately.

Our team carefully reviews each application based on the contact information and promotional properties provided. To be considered for approval, your channels must meet our quality requirements and align with the Semrush brand.

• If you are a content creator, your website(s) should have a minimum of 1,000 unique visitors in monthly traffic; a social network page or channel should also have a significant number of organic followers/likes/views (typically at least 1,000).
• We only accept online properties relevant to our products and do not contain objectionable or offensive content. While we primarily accept affiliates from online marketing-related fields, we also consider related niches with potential audience overlap for Semrush promotion.
• We pay attention to the quality of websites and social media profiles, traffic sources, keyword rankings, and content frequency.
• It's best to sign up using an email that matches your website's domain and get your promotional properties verified on Impact. Otherwise, your application could be declined due to unverified contact information.

We also welcome agencies, consultants, speakers, and educators. When applying, please include your website, portfolio, and LinkedIn profile.

We generally do not approve the following types of applications:

• Creators without a significant amount of relevant, high-quality content and organic traffic.
• Websites that are under construction or unfinished.
• Coupons, cashback, deals websites, or generator websites.
• Promotions through forums, browser extensions, mobile applications, or offline methods.
• Applications focused solely on email strategies or paid advertising.
• Social media profiles that do not showcase professional or business-related content.
• Websites that contain objectionable or offensive content.
• Applications where contact information cannot be verified.

In addition, it's important to note that applications without any provided links to websites, blogs, or social media accounts will be declined.

If your site is not yet live or has recently been launched, please consider applying later when your channels are fully functional and ready for evaluation.

To get started, please ensure that you meet the program requirements (detailed in this FAQ). Complete the application form with all required information, and if you don’t already have an Impact account, one will be created for you. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our team within 4 days.

If you work with clients, offering Semrush training and onboarding can be extremely valuable.

We review all applications during the business week as quickly as possible; you will receive an approval or a decline notification in your email inbox. Normally, it takes about two working days to review your application, however, in some cases, the verification process might take more days.

The specific reason for the decline is communicated to the affiliate through a notification sent after the application has been reviewed. However, please note that we may not provide individual feedback for denials due to the high volume of submissions we receive. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

After being accepted into the Semrush Affiliate Program, log into your Affiliate Dashboard on Impact. Go to the “Content” section and click on “Assets”. Here, you’ll find a variety of referral URLs and creative assets uploaded by our team. You can filter them by a label for easier sorting. These assets are crucial for tracking referrals and attributing commissions to your affiliate account.

Your tracking text link should look like this example: https://semrush.sjv.io/c/111111/222222/13053.

It's essential to use the tracking link exactly as it's provided in Impact, including any parameters or variables. Note that you should not copy it from the URL section. If you have any doubts or issues with your tracking link, please contact our support team.

As an affiliate, there are certain actions that you are not allowed to do. Please take note of some of the following main restrictions:

• Self-Referrals and Commission Sharing: Self-referrals and commission sharing are strictly prohibited. You are not permitted to use your own affiliate link to make purchases or create accounts for yourself, your relatives, or employees.
• Fraudulent Activities: Engaging in fraudulent activity, such as click fraud, cookie stuffing, or using unauthorized promotional methods, is strictly prohibited.
• No Misleading Content: You should not misrepresent Semrush or its products/services. It is important to provide accurate information and avoid making false claims or misleading statements. You are not allowed to engage in false advertising, such as misrepresenting a free trial as a coupon or discount, advertising invalid trials or offers, or engaging in any form of deceptive marketing tactics.
• PPC Advertising: All PPC advertising campaigns must be pre-approved by the Semrush Affiliate team. If you are running paid advertising campaigns, you are not allowed to bid on Semrush's branded keywords and ANY misspelled branded keywords like (but not limited to) Smerush, Semrash, Sem rush, Semrus, etc. Additionally, direct linking and ad hijacking are not permitted under any circumstances.
• Promotion Restrictions: Affiliates are prohibited from promoting our products or services on adult websites, gambling sites, or platforms that promote hate speech, violence, or illegal activities. Promotion through unauthorized third-party traffic sources, including paid traffic from networks that do not adhere to our guidelines, is also prohibited. Affiliates cannot send emails to lists that they do not have permission to contact, as this constitutes spam.
• Unauthorized Use of Brand Names: You are not allowed to use Semrush's trademarks in domain names, social media accounts, or communities names. A full list of restrictions can be found here.

Yes, as an affiliate of Semrush, it is essential to disclose your affiliate partnership when promoting Semrush products or services. Semrush is a US-based company. Hence, as our affiliate, you must follow the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines when using Semrush affiliate links.

When disclosing your affiliate partnership, you should clearly communicate that you may earn a commission or receive compensation for referrals or sales made through your affiliate links.

Since the Semrush Affiliate Program is hosted on the Impact network, you withdraw your affiliate commission according to Impact’s payment processing: Electronic Funds Transfer or PayPal.For more information, please check this article.

Transaction locking happens 27 days after the end of the month, and transactions are paid after 21 days after the end of the month they’ve been locked.

Currently, we do not offer exclusive discounts for affiliates. However, you can promote Semrush's standard pricing and any ongoing promotions available to all customers.

Please also note that, as per our Semrush Affiliate Program Terms, misrepresenting a free trial as a coupon or discount, and references to non-existing discounts, is prohibited.

If you can't find a referral in your affiliate statistics, please keep the following in mind:

Delay in tracking: Please note that there is a 2+ hour delay from the completion of an action to when it appears on your account dashboard. So, the referral may take some time to reflect in your statistics.

Non-attribution reasons: If the user you referred does not appear in your affiliate statistics, they were not attributed to your account. The most common reasons for this are:
a) They didn't use your affiliate link when signing up.
b) They didn't accept the necessary cookies. Visitor choices regarding cookies on a website's banner may impact the attribution of the cookie associated with your affiliate link.
c) User already had a registered Semrush account: Attribution for referrals occurs at the stage of user registration. If the referred user already had a Semrush account registered, it would not be attributed to your account.

For successful attribution, the user must be new and must follow your affiliate link and accept cookies when registering a Semrush account.
